MY dad of all people started making this and information technology wasn't MY traditional way. I gave him "the eye" while watching him throw apple juice and mustard of all things into it. I must admit..."the middle" felt stupid as I was eating the most delicious corn beef dinner EVER! The cabbage was almost like a dessert. I couldn't finish eating. Don't mess with this recipe other than maybe trying it out in a pressure level cooker. Merely dubiety information technology even needs that! Ambra-Akron

I make this recipe but I rinse my corned beef and then soak information technology over night in a sealed marinating dish in common cold water to take out some of the sodium and then rinse it again before making it my family loves it and this is our favorite recipe to use. I besides don't great up.
03/12/2011
My 2 year old ate more of this corned beef than I did. The apple juice/mustard/brown saccharide combo gave the beef a wonderfully sweetness/tangy flavor. I wouldn't change a thing near this recipe. Happy St. Patty's Day anybody!
03/fourteen/2011
I commonly don't effort recipes with only 3 reviews, and I was leery when I read the ingredients, but it was awesome!! I would requite it more stars if I could. I cooked information technology on the stove and I just had 1 - 3lb corned beef brisket, so I halved the vegetables but kept the liquid, dark-brown sugar and mustard measurements the same.
03/15/2011
Peradventure it'southward just me merely I don't like my dinner to sense of taste similar dessert. The corned beef was fine merely I could take achieve the same results with a more than basic, conventional treatment. The carrots were candy-coated - which is OK. And the potatoes were fine - probably too dense to take on the flavors. Only the cabbage was ruined. It tasted waaaay too sweet and had none of that good cabbage taste. Maybe that's a positive for those who don't like cabbage. And then next fourth dimension I'll go a dissimilar road and exist a bit more traditional: make the New England Corned Beef dinner I remember from my babyhood. (I missed the yummy, mouth-watering smell from cooking information technology stove-top too. Instead I got a too sugariness smell in my kitchen that lingered for hours.)
04/24/2011
Mmmmmmmmmmmm!! Not a large fan of "traditional" corned beefiness and cabbage, and then this was an interesting idea to effort. I halved the recipe, changed apple cider for juice, added three cut apples, left out the onions and used the regular potatoes I had on hand vs. red. Reading other reviews, I decided to wait 'til the last hour. to add the chopped cabbage, and so information technology still had good gustation/texture. The sweetness/salty flavor mix was wonderful, and this is how nosotros're eating corned beef and cabbage from now on!!
03/18/2011
Very practiced! The corned beefiness was so tender. (I cooked it on depression for about 8 hrs.) The only trouble I had was trying to fit everything into my slow cooker, which is a large, oblong cooker. I had to put several potatoes, role of an onion and half of the cabbage in a pan on the stove. I used a niggling water and some of the juices from the tedious cooker, which most reached the top rim of the cooker by and so. I simmered the extras on low for the concluding hour or so. I'1000 really glad I had to cook virtually of the cabbage on the stove because the cabbage that was in the slow cooker cooked down to practically nothing. The carrots were the biggest surprise! They were so incredibly sweet, I was wishing I'd added more! Everyone enjoyed the meal very much!

Amazing. Simply astonishing. I have never liked this before and loved it. My husband, who is Jewish, is a corned beefiness connoisseur and said it was the best he'southward ever had. Kept the juice and spices the same but did just 1 three pound corned beefiness and only used vii potatoes, one onion and a half a head of cabbage. Give thanks yous for this! ! ! !
03/17/2011
This was by far the best corned beefiness I always tasted. Merely change I made was to add together 1 cup of beer to brand sure everything was completely covered. Outstanding!
01/18/2012
Nice, and I will make again but it actually was also sweet. I followed the proffer by another affiche and added some vinegar to the liquid and a lot more mustard simply next fourth dimension I will skip adding the sugar instead. I also added some bay leaves, I beloved bay, te seasoning packet and more mustard seeds. Lastly, I added the cabbage in the last hour just, along with some green beans and they were perfect. And so one time all the veg were on a platter I poured a lemon butter sauce with parsley (melted butter, a squeeze of lemon and chopped parsley) over the whole lot--my mom'due south fox. Every bit for cook time, I did 1 hour at high at first, then 10.5 hrs on low. Thanks for posting!
05/29/2011
First off, I made this recipe EXACTLY equally stated, and information technology is great! I didn't notice it too sweet, information technology was actually a fun take on corned beefiness and cabbage. The family unit loved it and I will definitely make this over and over again! Some horseradish mustard on the side is great to give a sweet and spicy kick!
04/02/2011
Awesome corn beef recipe! The changes that I made were to use i cup brown sugar (we like it sweet) and because we were out of dijon mustard I used honey mustard. Information technology was so good, I made it again a few days later. Also, everyone that asked for the recipe said it was awesome also!
03/20/2011
I cutting the recipe in one-half, and added more apple juice than was called for. Best corned beef and cabbage I accept always had.
03/28/2011
One discussion describes this recipe....".DELICIOUS" !!!!! The only affair I did was added buttered garlic parmesan noodles to serve underneath it, and was glad I did, information technology was a good touch that made it even more enjoyable than it already was. This will be my new way to cook Corned Beef from now on. :D
03/30/2011
Easily the All-time corned beef i've e'er had!
03/19/2011
Easy...just need 1 brisket. Fingerling potatos instead of red pocket-size. Pearl onions instead of large one chopped
03/20/2011
Succulent, but I only used one 3lb. piece of corned beefiness, not 2. I left the other ingredient amounts every bit shown on the recipe.
03/21/2011
This recipe is succulent! I've tried a handful of deadening cooker recipes from allrecipes.com and they all are wonderful. I didn't modify anything about this ane and it was great! Still, I couldn't fit much cabbage similar another reviewer stated. Afterward eating some of the meat, I added more than potatoes and cabbage the adjacent 24-hour interval and they were succulent! My 16 month one-time girl, hubby, and I really like this one!
03/28/2011
My lady friend and I both agree information technology was the best corned beef and cabbage dinner we've e'er had Had planned to go more than than one meal out of it and corned beef sandwitches merely it was so good we nibbled it all away . Besides good to serve only in one case a year on St Patty'southward Mean solar day.
12/04/2011
This was the best Corned Beefiness recipe always. Anybody in the house including 5 guys over for band practice ate this one up. Most of them hated Corned Beef just after this they accept asked that I make this every year for St Pat's day. It's a keeper
04/02/2011
This was very good. Not too sweet for us at all! Thank you for sharing- would definitely make once again!
04/14/2011
The corned beef turned out well, notwithstanding, all the yummy vegetables (particularly the cabbage) was ruined by the sweetness liquid. If I make this again, I will not add whatever carrots, potatoes or cabbage to the mixture.
08/27/2014
This review is for the meat but portion of this recipe. We really enjoyed the gustatory modality of this meat with the 3 ingredient broth. The apple tree juice gave the corned beef a wonderful flavor. The meat was very moist and sliced nicely. If I am pressed for fourth dimension and cannot make the oven braised version of corned beef, I will definitely utilize this crockpot method. Looking forwards to Reuben sandwiches with the leftovers. Served this with 'Alla Checca' and 'Tomato Bruschetta' both AR recipes. Thank you tonmeilleurami, for sharing your recipe. It is delicious!
10/13/2011
Its been cooking on high for 5 hours & its not close to existence gear up! I think your crock pot must be nuclear powered. I can't wait to endeavor it. I added a tblsp of cider vinegar, garlic, one bay leafage, a tsp of worcestershire sauce & I brand a dipping sauce from apparently yogurt mixed with horseradish. I tweak all my recipes.
03/18/2012
Crawly I added a beer just abslutely crawly
03/16/2011
We fabricated this today a day early since my hubby is working on St. Patricks Day, through the evening. Information technology was so delicious! We have immature kids and the older two loved it but my persnickety 3-yr former wasn't that into it. He refuses to consume a lot of things though so that is not surprising. The flavor was nice and smoothen, not too overbearing, and the potatoes and carrots were also very delicious. I will definitely be making this i over again!
03/20/2011
Not the season of corned beef I've made in the past, but very good. It is a piddling sweet instead of a little salty. I may make information technology once again, only but enough for ane meal... everyone ate it and loved it, merely no i wanted leftovers... It's expert, it's interesting but, since we only practice corned beef once a year.. I'll probably make it once more...
01/xix/2012
Did not like this dish one bit. Apples was not worth tasting.
03/23/2013
Yummy & easy! Do not believe that the ingredients make this dish also sweet. I am proud of this Mom for creating & posting this receipe. My family loved it & we do non unremarkably eat corned beef. Cheers so much for sharing.
03/25/2011
absolutely scrumptuous!!
03/22/2011
I feel so bad leaving this review but.... the apple juice/brown saccharide merely overpowered the cabbage and corned beef. If it had sweetened it a scrap, that would have been acceptable, but was just way too much for me. Maybe I was hoping too much for a more traditional corned beef/cabbage dish. Sad.
07/01/2011
Like shooting fish in a barrel to follow recipe. Nice and tasty on the first try. Will do again.
02/23/2013
I've e'er gone to this recipe for corned beef. I've but ever made information technology in the crock pot though, and in that location wasn't whatever room for the vegetables and the meat wouldn't be completely covered. At present, I've tried this in a stock pot on the stove (40 min per lb) and doubled the broth ingredients. This was the all-time it always came out, absolutely delicious and moist. I will never get back to the crock pot.
03/17/2011
Awesome recipe, thanks
04/18/2011
This recipe was okay, but not as adept as everyone else raved about it. The flavor of the apple is simply tasted in the outside edge of the beef. And in the potatoes. It was tender, just any liquid in the slow cooker would do that. I wouldn't spend the coin to buy apple juice (which I don't unremarkably have on hand) to make this again.
03/17/2011
Decided to make this for St. Patrick's Day fifty-fifty though I have never made a corned beef brisket before and this was delicious! I must take a pocket-size tiresome cooker considering at that place was no room for the cabbage. I used 2 2lb briskets and in that location was enough of liquid so no need to add more. Meat was tender and although I was concerned almost how sweet it was going to turn out it, information technology was perfect! The just reason I didn't requite it 5 stars was because I wasn't able to contain the cabbage. Will make this again hopefully earlier next St Patricks Day!
05/fifteen/2011
We just didnt care for it this way.
03/ten/2012
Style too Sweet with the Apple tree Juice. I volition stick to the bones corned beef recipe, Water and Crock Pot.
03/20/2015
What a delicious, fun and easy recipe for St. Patrick's Day! I used one 3# corned beef and the published amounts of juice/mustard/sugar. I besides added a heaping tablespoon of garlic and some cracked black pepper. I just eyeballed virtually half of the veggies and threw in there. I let this go 12 hours on low (yep, long twenty-four hour period at work!), and this was moist and delicious. Hubs RAVED over this! Thanks for sharing your twist on corned beef with AR, this was fabled.
06/18/2013
Liked the bones recipe and then found it piece of cake to adapt. I sometimes switch a bottle of medium dry cider for the apple juice which works really well if some of your guests exercise not like their meals as sweet every bit the standard recipe.
12/27/2014
This is the first time I've made corned beef and the recipe made it easy and foolproof. I didn't change anything and we were very pleased with the results. Definitely recommend!
01/05/2012
i dearest this beef is tasty and different
03/19/2015
I used this recipe for a St. Patrick's Day feast at our church, and everyone loved information technology! Our Pastor is Irish gaelic, and he gave a two thumbs up! Said it was absolutely delicious, which it is. I volition never fix Corned Beef whatever other way. All the veggies were very tasty likewise.
03/15/2012
This is a delicious, sweetness-savory alternative to traditional corned beef.
04/17/2012
This was the all-time corned beef I e'er fabricated.
03/17/2015
I made this today for St. Patricks Day and it turned out fantabulous! Make no changes, follow the recipe! I take a new way to brand our Irish gaelic repast! Thank you for sharing!
03/15/2013
Very expert
05/12/2013
Fantastic! After reading a few of the reviews about the sweetness, I decided to utilise a cider instead. This time I used Woodchuck 802 which was amazing. I halved the recipe for 1 3 lb. corned beef brisket, then I used just one bottle. Very, very good!
03/17/2015
This was totally delicious. My female parent is not a big fan of corned beef but even she liked it, said it was the best she's always had. I did not make two 3 lb. corned beefs, instead I got a 4 lb. corned beefiness and kept the residue of the ingredients the same. It was fantastic, not too sweet at all. I'll be using this one again!
06/06/2012
We all loved it! I followed the recipe exactly and cooked on low for 10 hours. This recipe is very easy and tastes fantastic every bit written. I would not change a matter. I will be making this oftentimes.
02/02/2014
The kids were begging me to melt anything but corned beef. One girl had seconds and ane had thirds! I will never go back to h2o, moist and delicious. Used baby aureate potatoes with the baby red for some contrast. They ate all of the potatoes likewise. I remember this will be a regular carte du jour particular at my firm!
03/14/2015
Succulent! Bang-up season, & my family said it was the best ever! This recipe is a keeper!
12/10/2012
This is a recipe I'd like to try again. The first time around I didn't have cabbage. I followed the recipe and it didn't turn out too sweet and I enjoyed the cooked apples. The 2nd fourth dimension around I'1000 going to add together more apples and the cabbage, which I missed having.
03/17/2017
i usually bake this meat on st pats twenty-four hour period. merely oven gave out. office won't be in until days later. I am using apple sauce since I practice not accept apple juice. nosotros're glad I did.
03/03/2016
I'll definitely make this again. Nosotros loved it
06/24/2013
We LOVED this!!
03/12/2016
We tried this recipe at our work with a squad of 8 at https://overhemden.com - although we overcooked it a lilliputian fleck - I think nosotros did a really really good job. Great recipe and non too complex. THankS!
03/17/2016
I made this for St. Patty'southward Day (a day early), and my family loved it! My husband is not wild about corned beefiness, simply I serve it every St. Patty's Day because I'grand part Irish. He really liked this version because the brown sugar and apple juice made information technology a bit sweeter. I followed the recipe pretty closely, but took the proffer of one reviewer and added beer to completely cover the vegetables in the crock pot. I used one bottle of Irish gaelic stout, and it turned out great! The meat was very tender, and the vegetables, especially the cabbage, were super sweet! I volition definitely make once more, but I am not waiting a yr to do so!!
03/xx/2017
Really enjoyed this! Fabricated half recipe - serving iv people. Because veggies are sometimes not cooked through in my slow cooker, I placed them in the pot first and topped them with the corned beefiness (fat side up). All came out perfectly done. Nosotros served the meat with a sauce of one/2 cup sour cream and 2 Tbsp. horseradish. Delicious!
03/28/2017
2nd fourth dimension making this recipe. Loved it this time equally much as the first time. Will make information technology over again!!!
10/xiv/2014
WAY too sweetness.
12/01/2017
Very good! No changes made.
01/23/2013
Was good, simply not as flavorful every bit I had hoped.
03/15/2016
My husband said information technology was the best corned beef dinner he always had then I'k cooking once more this twelvemonth
03/xiii/2018
This is my favorite corned beef recipe. I'1000 so glad I found it. I have shared it a number of times, and anybody says it'southward the only manner to cook it. I never had much luck in oven or stove top. Yet, this is so like shooting fish in a barrel and the corned beef is so flavorful and tender.
03/17/2013
simply made it this evening it was very good, my husban and I enjoyed it we didn't call back it was to sweetness simply it did take a slight sugariness to it witch was dandy served with french bread (witch I made my into a sub)
04/02/2016
No, I made no changes, I cooked in the crock pot but man O man was it good, cheers for the recipe.
03/14/2016
What a smashing season! My family LOVED this recipe. The apple tree juice & brown sugar made the beef so flavorful! I made this last twelvemonth & searched for this recipe again. I would never alter to another recipe.
eleven/02/2014
The best corned beefiness and cabbage! I don't utilise the mustard, though. Makes a lot; make sure y'all have a very large crock pot, or scale down the recipe.
01/05/2018
OMG!! Amazing!!
05/31/2017
I did non employ onions, the flavor and fragrance was excellent. we loved it
03/11/2018
Tastes adept, simply a bit too sugariness. Would be meliorate if the sugariness is lessened somehow.
10/02/2017
I've made it in a slow cooker, instant pot pressure cooker and on the stove top. Delicious every fourth dimension. I added Yukon aureate potatoes and those are my favorite. This is a keeper for me.
04/21/2015
I liked this ... better than "traditional" corned beef and cabbage. I'll make it like this again.
03/26/2017
This is my new favorite recipe..It came out delicious..I used spicy brown mustard instead of prepared mustard
03/15/2016
Made this for friends final weekend and everyone raved most it. Simply difference I had was that the cabbage did not fit in the slow cooker so I had to cook that split up. Other than that, this is a keeper and the but style I will make it in the future!
03/11/2016
I made this for my Dad a few years back and he couldn't stop raving about it. He has since passed, but this recipe is made in his honor every St. Pat's Day. I don't put all the veggies in the aforementioned time as the meat. The veggies tend to get likewise soggy. My family loves how the meat is cooked in apple juice but the veggies are cooked on the side with the exception of a few large chunked carrots for those who like them sugariness. very very good! Thanks for the recipe
03/13/2017
i used too much apple tree juice but all the same was good!
11/29/2012
Very skillful corned beef recipe. made for st. patricks day and everyone loved information technology
05/14/2016
This is AMAZING! My family loved it. Only changes I cut dorsum a little on juice and carbohydrate after reading some reviews re desert etc. Added I loving cup of depression table salt beef broth to recoup for liquid doubled the carrots Yum. I made on stove summit it was not likewise sweet and next fourth dimension will add together total sweetness equally original recipe calls for. This recipe is dead on delish!!! Plant my become to corned beefiness recipe for life! Enjoy and Thank U so much for this crawly recipe! :)
06/09/2015
This was my very first recipe that I tried since subscribing to All Recipes. Information technology was delicious. I am not a big fan of cabbage and then I just used some gourmet small potatoes, carrots and vadalia onions and followed the recipe. I did not notice it too sweet and the brown sugar and apple juice really brought out the flavor of the corned beef. My husband does non eat corned beef and so I changed the serving size and it was perfect for me. I will definitely make this over again. You see I like corned beef not just on St Patricks twenty-four hour period!!!!!
03/17/2014
It was succulent!!! I adjusted the recipe a little; instead of iv cups apple tree juice I used 2 cups Apple Juice AND two cups Orange Juice. I added 1 Bulb Fresh Crushed Garlic And used Horseradish Mustard instead of prepared mustard. Cooked the red potatoes whole (not cut). Everything was cooked perfectly. Best CORNED BEEF I EVER HAD!!
12/xvi/2015
Nosotros use sweet potatoes instead of the ruby potatoes. We accept done both blood-red potatoes and sweet potatoes or regular potatoes and sugariness potatoes... and no carrots We also add a little scrap of horseradish in information technology to give information technology a lil kick
01/18/2018
loved it. definitely a keeper.
03/17/2016
my family loved his!! apple tree juice gave it a dandy gustation non sweet but tasty
04/05/2018
The most delicious corned beef our family unit has ever had! We replaced our erstwhile recipe with this i.
03/17/2018
This is the best corned beef I take ever eaten and the but recipe I will always use from this point forward!
03/21/2018
This turned out Amazing!!! One of the tastiest and tender corned beef brisket I've ever made!!! My husband LOVES IT!!!!
04/26/2018
I similar the traditional braised way of cooking so much better than this recipe. Information technology took much longer to cook in the slow cooker, too. Information technology must be the mustard & apple tree juice that gave the veges a strange taste. Volition not melt it this way over again.
03/04/2020
I made this as described with the exception of using 2 cut upwards sweet potatoes and baby carrots. I only had a 2/lb corn beef just used the aforementioned corporeality of ingredients. I added the cabbage 3 hrs before finishing. Information technology turned out great. The corn beefiness was perfect. The carrots, potato, and cabbage were flavorful. It was sweet but non too much for me. Would do it again but add more than sweet potatoes.
03/18/2018
When my husband asks for seconds(which he probably shouldn't accept and doesn't demand) I will charge per unit v stars. This will exist my St. Patrick's mean solar day recipe from now on. I followed the recipe exactly except halved it considering I only had two people eating and one brisket. Repeating another rating, I did have problem getting every affair in the Boring Cooker. But it worked out. Thanks for some other great recipe!
03/21/2018
This was delicious! I loved the idea of using apple juice to cook the brisket in! The potatoes turned out very tasty. Thank you for the recipe!
03/18/2018
This is without a doubt the best recipe for corned beef I have ever made. I have fabricated information technology many many times and information technology e'er turns out perfect!!
03/21/2018
Loved this, the apple juice idea was brilliant. Old small crockpot, so had to cook cabbage in another pot earlier serving. Dumped all the crockpot fixings into my Dutch oven and finished cooking.
03/21/2018
I followed the recipe exactly. The corned beef was delicious. The potatoes were a petty bland only the apple tree juice and brown saccharide gave the carrots a great flavor.
03/22/2018
Did not add sugar....plenty sugariness! Consider a canteen of beer or maybe a bit of balsamic vinegar? Very good tho, will make over again.
03/22/2018
I simply had a pocket-size cabbage then I also added fresh kale. This fabricated information technology even more than nutritious. Information technology was every bit as good equally what my mother and grandmother made, and 5 days later, it's still bang-up! Serve with warmed Irish Soda Bread drizzled with butter. Yum.
03/17/2018
I made this as per the recipe except I used one 4-pound corned beef brisket and used Yukon Aureate potatoes instead of cerise. Cooked in dull-cooker on loftier for about 4 one/two hours. Admittedly delicious! Meat was very tender and vegetables were well cooked only not mushy. I will definitely make this again.
03/nineteen/2019
Thought information technology was very skilful, and took the tip from another reviewer to add the cabbage late, the corn beefiness came out only right, for me.
